As we move closer to the election and approach the end of the year, we reflect on our achievements and the path ahead. This year, Pueblo Pro-Choice has made tremendous strides in the fight for reproductive justice and community care. Our work is focused on protecting abortion access and building a Pueblo where every person can thrive. Some of our significant wins include:
- A powerful Bigger Than Roe event that engaged and mobilized our community around reproductive freedom
- Successfully gathering petition signatures and qualifying Amendment 79 for the ballot, a crucial measure to enshrine abortion rights in Colorado’s constitution.
- Partnering with Justice Necessary to pass HB24-1164, which ensures free menstrual products for students, addressing a critical need for equitable access to healthcare.
- Organizing a successful hygiene drive for Bradford Elementary with El Movimiento Sigue, ensuring students have access to essential hygiene products.
- Hosting a community discussion on health, family, and reproductive care with prominent reproductive justice leaders from Pueblo.
- Successfully fighting off another anti-abortion ordinance in October 2024, marking our second victory against such measures since our first win in 2022.
With these achievements behind us, we are committed to ensuring that everyone has access to the care they need. As we continue our efforts, we’re excited to endorse candidates who share our vision for Pueblo.
With just 13 days until the election, we’re endorsing candidates who will fight for reproductive justice and protect our right to access abortion care. These leaders are committed to real change—building a Pueblo where every person and family can thrive through policies that put our community first. Electing leaders who understand that reproductive freedom is deeply connected to racial, economic, and social justice is critical.
We’re proud to stand behind these candidates and ready to work alongside them to ensure Pueblo moves forward.

We’re also proud to endorse Amendment 79, a critical step to enshrine the right to abortion in Colorado’s state constitution, ensuring reproductive freedom for all and stopping government interference in personal healthcare decisions.
This is especially important for Pueblo and Southern Colorado, given recent anti-abortion ordinance attempts by our city council. We need Amendment 79 to reinforce our current protections and keep these decisions out of the hands of government, preventing Pueblo from becoming a healthcare desert.
By securing these rights in our constitution, we can safeguard access to essential care and ensure that reproductive healthcare decisions remain personal.

Additionally we’re endorsing Amendment J, which will remove the outdated constitutional ban on same-sex marriage in Colorado. This amendment ensures the right to marry is protected at the state level, safeguarding LGBTQ+ families from any potential federal rollbacks. Voting YES on Amendment J affirms the freedom to marry and strengthens equality for all Coloradans.
